The Mental Health Clinician is assigned to work within a specific specialty population, i.e. adults with Severe Mental Illness (SMI), children and youth with Severe Emotional Disturbances (SED) or adult or children clients with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), and individuals who have Substance Use Disorders and/or a serious mental illness with co-occurring substance disorder.
Mental Health Clinician is a professional position responsible in providing an array of; best practice models of clinical treatments, which include comprehensive and ongoing assessment, intensive therapy, clinically appropriate intervention techniques including individual and group therapies, case consultation and coordination. The mental health clinician facilitates the person-centered process for treatment planning as well as facilitation of therapeutic and psychoeducational groups. Mental Health Clinicians will develop and understanding of Trauma Informed Care and apply treatment and practice in a manner supporting trauma informed care.
The Clinician works under the assigned program Supervisor.
