Title: Director of Engineering- HVAC/Construction
Location: Midland, MI (Headquarters)
Position Description:
The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading the engineering team in the development of systems, processes, and projects; ensuring production is accurate, neat, complete, and always on time. The Director of Engineering works directly with sales and management to achieve profitability by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans; preparing and completing action plans; implementing productivity, quality and customer service standards; identifying trends; determining system improvements and implementing change.
Key Processes
- Provides technical/engineering advice and guidance to sales & operations teams.
- Undertakes in-depth analysis/studies of problems and indentifies longer-term solutions and/or options.
- Directs and assists with engineering design projects including complete mechanical, electrical & control packages for suppliers, consulting engineers, clients and others. These projects might involve Revit Models, 2D Drawings, Bill of Materials, parts lists and system specifications.
- Leading and participating in brainstorming sessions and other team meetings intended to establish priorities and performance goals based on client objectives.
- Carry out site/vendor visits.
- Preparation of client proposals, including project execution budgets as well as prototype and end-product cost estimates and preparation of submittals.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Work with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
- Ensure that all final project designs achieve client and end-user requirements.
