Benefits Specialist plays an integral role within the Total Rewards function. The Benefits Specialist provides research, coordination, consultation and creative solutions to maintain, administer and implement benefits programs which are legally compliant, cost effective and aligned with market and organizational needs; including retirement/pension, medical, dental, life insurance, disability, vision, wellness and other benefits.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for administration of U.S. retirement and group health & welfare benefit programs
Recommend and implement new benefits offerings or modifications to plan designs and vendor solutions to maintain or improve competitive position and drive U.S. benefits strategy
Recommend and implement administrative process improvements while leveraging technology
Assists in the development and management of vendor relationships to ensure services and projects are performed effectively, and that quality and delivery standards are met
Oversee compliance with government regulations for all retirement and health & welfare plans, including ensuring the satisfaction of data protection and privacy requirements
Research and resolve unusual or escalated employee and vendor inquiries
Support annual enrollment, including planning and health care pricing and design strategy
Function as a subject matter expert and resource for employee relations activities, including collective bargaining processes
Develop and facilitate benefits education/communication, and educational tools for employees/users in conjunction with HR business partners and vendors
Conduct and/or coordinate program reviews and audits in conjunction with vendor partners to ensure accurate administration
Assists with preparation of materials for Investment and Benefit Plan Committee meetings
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, management, accounting/finance, mathematics or related field; or equivalent work experience
Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or similar designation desired
Minimum of 2-5 years of related work experience with increasing responsibilities related to benefits programs
Must be able to compile and analyze data, and present ideas clearly and concisely
Excellent presentation, interpersonal, communication and consulting skills
High proficiency in MS Office and an aptitude for learning new technology
Strong computer skills and experience with an HRIS and benefits recordkeeping/administration system preferred
Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary (up to 10%)
May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description

Professional Office Environment
Limited travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required
Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
