Description of the department:
Social Media is included in the Marketing Department at Fox Sports Detroit. While the focus is on creating content for social media, integrating it into broadcasts and supporting our partnerships with the teams, it has multiple functions within the organization including: creating and managing partnership agreements within the collegiate and professional sports realm, designing and executing promotions with the Ad Sales department, planning and implementing annual station promotions, overseeing the overall branding and image of the station including all activities related to the Fox Sports Detroit Girls and executing community events. .

The intern will work on creating content for social media for both FOX Sports Detroit and the FOX Sports Detroit Girls, integrating social media into game broadcasts, overseeing the direct email communication between fans and the requests for communication/autographs from the FOX Sports Detroit Girls, and researching strategic opportunities for social media.
Learning Objectives:
Gain the basic understanding of the functions of integrating Social Media into the broadcast and the functions of the Marketing department as a whole. Learn the ad sales process as it relates to executing promotions.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
* Currently be enrolled as an undergrad in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or Sports Business degree
* Experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and design software such as PhotoShop/Adobe
* Some graphics/design experience a plus
* Experience with Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) a must
* Ability to be flexible on work hours...will be required to work some off-site/off-hour events
