TITLE: Senior Program Engineer
DUTIES: Utilize extensive knowledge and experience in the following engineering disciplines to develop programs: GD&T, DFMEA, DVP&R, DMAIC, and 8D. Maintain multiple complex vehicle programs involving multiple regions and product lines. Utilize thorough knowledge of internal and customer manufacturing and design processes. Utilize and support the development of best practices and processes. Execute customer requirements and use this understanding to accomplish strategic objectives. Understand Cooper Standard product lines outside of your main discipline. Release engineering change requests. Lead program development reviews (gate) and design reviews. Provide cost effective input to the auto-quote process. Perform product validation and root cause analysis of DV failures. Ensure designs meet all functional statement of work requirements and manage exceptions. Interface with the customer, design, manufacturing plants, testing, sales program management, purchasing, and supplies with technical knowledge. Maintain program design statuses with design timelines. Lead product VE/VA reviews. Lead technical troubleshooting for products. Lead KT, 8D, or other structured corrective action/decision making with manufacturing divisions to assure timely and permanent problem resolution. Lead in vehicle builds and validation. Lead and support business unit at customer management meetings. Mentor associate program engineers and intermediate program engineers. Release and maintain program data, drawings, and other engineering documents in the Cooper Standard Product Life Cycle Management system.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering, or related field of study and 3 years of experience in Senior Program Engineer or a related occupation. Experience must include: Experience with APQP processes; Experience with 3D data in CAD software; Experience evaluating customer vehicle build and validation problems; Experience drawing layouts, part detailing, and GD&T; Experience with Microsoft Office; Experience managing technical customer communications. This position requires only little (< 15 days/year) domestic and international travel to manufacturing sites.
