HDR is looking for a Michigan Highway/Roadway Section Manager to join our growing Transportation group in Michigan.
Primary Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for the operations and growth of the highway/roadway section including staff growth, staff development, technical leadership, project management, quality control, strategic planning, marketing support and coordination with other disciplines.
Responsible for providing technical expertise for roadway projects and providing leadership/management in the growth and development of the roadway section.
Oversee operations of a production section including staff development, profitability, workload, morale, quality control and marketing support.
Function as a project manager and production on projects in addition to management responsibilities.
Be administratively responsible for the section staff and technical service functions and will lead and coordinate services with other sections.
Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews.
See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through a pro-active project management system.
Implement, monitor and support company policy.
Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel.
Experience in the management and development of multi-discipline teams.
Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing in local and national marketing and production efforts.
Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
BS in Engineering
PE required
At least 10 years of experience in the various aspects of highway/roadway engineering design
Demonstrated ability to market services and develop strong client relationships
Experience with Microstation, Geopak, and/or InRoads or other transportation design software packages
Microsoft Office experience required
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Demonstrated leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management experience preferred
It is preferred to have experience, relationships, and demonstrated success working with MDOT and other transportation agencies in the Michigan market
Preference given to local Southeast Michigan area residents
