The Legal Studies program is seeking a full-time faculty member to instruct courses related to the paralegal profession consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. With that, a working knowledge of the paralegal field to include training, educational requirements, certification opportunities, and practical job responsibilities is desired. The selected faculty member will participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. The incumbent must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population as well as work effectively in a team-based environment while seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy. A commitment to professional development and learning is needed as the paralegal profession continues to grow. The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to connect one-on-one with students. Possessing outstanding listening skills combined with the ability to understand the needs of others, demonstrate flexibility and maintain a high work ethic and integrity are paramount to the success of the program. Faculty will teach in an online real time classroom setting, as well as, face to face courses with an expectation of an on-campus, in-person presence. Online teaching certification must be verified (if earned previously) or LCC’s Teaching Online Certification must be completed or earned at LCC before instructing online
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
