Assistant Instructor Fixed Term
Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics at Michigan State University may have one or more part-time positions available to teach a course introducing graduate students to the processes and tools required to bring a project in sports analytics to completion. The availability of these positions are dependent upon funding and program needs.
Candidates should have at least a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science or engineering, as well as expertise with computational tools such as R, Python, Tableau, Power BI, or other languages and tools currently used in the sports industry.
Candidates with experience in athletics from the collegiate or professional level, in management, coaching, or consulting are preferred. We seek candidates who are able to leverage their experience with athletics to describe the project cycle in sports analytics from start to finish and to network with industry professionals and bring them to MSU for guest lectures and student mentoring.
Position is planned to recur every Spring Semester
