Roush is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer II who will be responsible for evaluating manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials with other internal areas of Roush. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer II will improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and fixture development. The Manufacturing Engineer II will develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching and improving existing prints, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, as well as other manufacturing responsibilities.
As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
- Providing manufacturing feasibility assessments for capacity requirements, product design, engineering changes, scope changes and quality concerns
- Developing process flow and line layout requirements
- Developing and implementing effective work instruction
- Defining capital equipment and tooling required and maintain adherence to the budget of the program
- Project managing the procurement and acceptance of required equipment & tooling
- Project managing the ME requirements of the product development and launch processes
- Facilitating the implementation of production equipment/tooling into the manufacturing facility and any corresponding technical training
- Assessing the product, process, equipment and tooling strategies for potential ergonomic concerns and manage action items to resolve
- Supporting customer part needs through pilot, testing, run-at-rate and internal process sign offs
- Creating and support continuous improvement projects
- Providing coaching and assistance to entry level mechanical engineers
To be considered as a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, emphasis in manufacturing, welding and or assembly processes
- U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident allowing for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations compliance
- 5 years of experience in a production-based environment
- Good driving record
- Knowledge of production weldment fixtures, low volume production manufacturing and assembly
- Ability to conduct time studies and workflow analysis
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 processes and procedures
- Proficiency with MS Office with the specific ability to create project plans
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be detail oriented, work independently and execute plans
