This Position is Located in Madison Heights, MI
Summary:
A painter will operate spray painting equipment to paint and apply other industrial coatings to manufactured product. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. May be trained to perform sub and final assemblies and work either in a production cell or with small parts by inspecting and sorting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Secure items to be sprayed within spray booths or placing them onto racks
Load paint into spray equipment.
Connect hoses to spray equipment and adjusting spray nozzles to required pressure.
Direct spray guns to apply even coatings to the manufactured product
Move items to drying areas and prepare them for further painting and packaging
Clean nozzles, containers and hoses of equipment
Change out the filters inside of the paint booth
Dispose of the paint cans according to provided instructions
Move necessary materials around jobsite as assigned
Perform to written job instructions or engineering drawing/work order
Identify process changes and methods improvements
Perform quality checks in accordance with established quality procedures and ISO requirements
May be required to use carts, hoists and ladders.
Support the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety (QEH&S) policy and strategic direction of the organization.
Use and maintain personal protective equipment required to safely perform the job
Ensure production pace is maintained to meet customer demand
Learn and review daily production goals and metrics as a team
Work to achieve general knowledge of operation/function of assemblies
Learn operational or departmental equipment, tooling or gauging as required
Maintain cleanliness (5S) of work area daily
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills / Equipment:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
Ability to use spray painting equipment and various power (Pneumatic) hand tools (i.e.: power screwdriver)
Mechanically inclined
Ability to understand blueprints
Computer literate
May be required to lift from one to forty pounds
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1+ years' experience in assembly or other fast paced operations preferred.
Good Attendance is a must
Professional Attitude and Teamwork
