As the Driveline Electrification Integration Design Engineer you will support the development and evolution of E-Transmissions, E-axles, and electrified transmission system components for machinery that fosters and builds the world. You will analyze, design, and provide support on sophisticated drivetrain systems, working multi-functionally with colleagues in vehicle engineering, component validation, manufacturing, supply chain, and electronics.
Responsibilities
Integrate electrified / hybrid driveline components and systems coming from internal designs or marketplace
Determine and document system performance requirements and translate to component specification requirements
Investigate and benchmark new component technologies
Propose and develop component control strategies and system architecture
Build models and drawings in Pro-E for mechanical parts and component assemblies
Collaborate with driveline and product engineering teams to integrate component and sub-system designs into the vehicle master models including tolerance stack analysis, digital mock-up (DMU), and design for manufacturing / assembly
Use virtual design methods and software packages to improve models through performing performance evaluations for various driveline components
Develop Product Cards to engage suppliers and provide feedback during the supplier selection process
Participate in development of virtual and physical validation plans
Collaborate with a multi-functional team including third party engineering companies to resolve issues for components and systems
Drive DFMEA and design reviews
Work optimally with Supplier Quality and Manufacturing to ensure designs are efficient for manufacturing and able to meet quality requirements
Support activities with Purchasing and suppliers in line with component development
This position pays $97,000 to $139,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in electrical fields with mechanical, agricultural, and/or automotive experience or background
5 plus years in electrification product development (Automotive, On Highway, or Off Highway) while demonstrating ability to work in a product development environment, or similar, with exposure to engineering and development processes and multi-functional team collaboration
