Responsibilities
PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT- ORTHOPEDICS (Joints) /MAIN CAMPUS
Provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical care, (e.g.: Patient history, physical examination, ordering and interpreting medical and laboratory tests, making medical and surgical diagnosis and instituting treatment programs) with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physical member of the medical staff. Specific procedures within a specific surgical specialty are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. Within HFHS a Surgeon's Assistant functions as part of a medical or surgical care team.
This provider will be working autonomously in an outpatient clinic. Other responsiblities will include, floor/inpatient rounding and scrubbing in for surgery for the OR.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
(PA) Bachelor's Degree. Masters Degree preferred. Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program. OR (NP) Masters prepared Registered Nurse who has graduated and taken the board certification within their chosen specialty. Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National boards of the specific discipline. Licensed and certified in Michigan and has no contingencies on their license. Must hold both a BLS and ACLS certification. Must be eligible or have obtained a DEA number for prescriptive authority in Michigan.

XPERIENCE PREFERRED:
2-3 years of experience as MLP with Ortho experience and surgical scrubbing experience preferred
