Job Summary:
IT Audit Senior Manager will be responsible for providing leadership relative to all phases of audits including planning, control analysis, testing, issue development and reporting. He or she will also lead initiatives for planning, supervision, administration and performance of project IT systems reviews, general and application controls reviews, security reviews, application system development life cycle audits, CAATs support and special IT requests utilizing standard IT audit techniques.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing leadership relative to all phases of audits including planning, control analysis, testing, issue development and reporting.
- Developing integrated test plans for use in covering key areas of risk within the Information Technology functions.
- Leading and participating in multiple audits and critical business initiatives throughout the year.
- Effectively identifying audit findings and providing value-added recommendations to strengthen business practices and controls.
- Collaborating with audit management to enhance audit coverage across multiple business units.
- Establishing and maintaining key business relationships with internal leadership, external auditors, and co-sourcing audit agents resulting in maximum effectiveness.
- Coaching multiple staff to complete effective and timely audits.
- Remaining current with industry trends and emerging risks to update audit coverage as appropriate.
- Planning, supervision, administration and performance of project IT system reviews, general and application controls reviews, security reviews, application system development life cycle audits, CAATs support and special IT requests utilizing standard IT audit techniques.
- Experience in understanding business processes, analyzing and assessing business process controls, identify and evaluate complex business risks.
- Participates in each phase of an IT implementation project and performing specific duties and reviews to ensure that individuals on the project team have performed the required tasks and have prepared adequate documentation.
- Reviews the implementation plan of enterprise-wide applications and provide feedback and recommendations on how to incorporate the necessary controls during implementation, while interacting with the development and implementation teams to ensure critical financial, operational, and security controls are included in business requirements and are embedded into the system during the development phase.
- Leads or participates in testing and system walk throughs.
- Reviews or performs testing on completeness and integrity of converted data.
- Leads or participates in post-implementation review to ensure input, output and interface controls are properly implemented and protected to ensure data integrity can be maintained throughout the relevant transaction cycles.
- Identification, evaluation and/or assessment of complex business risks, business process and related controls.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 years (Manager) or 10+ years (Senior Manager) of information systems audit experience or similar type of function, preferably within the Financial Services industry. Big 4 accounting firm experience is strongly desired.
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Systems or Computer Science is a plus. A CISA is a preferred; a CPA, CIA or CISSP is a plus, but not required.
- Experience auditing, implementing, or operating general computer and application controls including security, change management systems development, and disaster recovery.
- Experience working with distributed environments and mainframe environments, relational database platforms, and web applications.
- Experience developing computer assisted audit techniques (CAATs) and using data analysis software (e.g. ACL).
- Solid understanding of risk assessment, control analysis, audit methodology and the ability to converse with management on these topics to develop the most effective audit approach and business-focused recommendations to strengthen controls.
- Strong project management and analytical skills to lead and conduct audits and assess financial, operational, compliance and systems risk.
- Solid understanding of risk and control concepts related to IT systems reviews, general and application controls reviews, security reviews, application system development life cycle audits, and CAATs .
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management, external auditors, vendors, and other partners to analyze business risks and controls.
