Job Summary:
The Pricing Analyst’s responsibility is to review, analyze, and improve profitability of Con-way’s services pricing compared to published or disclosed prices of competitors in the market place. Additionally, this person analyzes business opportunities and creates rates for new and existing customers based upon customer shipping patterns, profile characteristics, and the competitive environment; and presents to Sales pricing options to secure competitive opportunities at profitable levels. This person will also provide input for profitability projections and corporate pricing strategies.
Description of Essential Job Functions:
• Understanding of the LTL environment and contract/tariff application
• Perform detailed costing analysis and develop profitable pricing options to present to Sales for customer negotiations
• Re-rate shipments under different pricing scenarios to compare net results
• Performs revenue management and cost analysis for new/ existing customers, reviewing shipping patterns and characteristics to identify opportunities for increased yields, improved network density, and reduced costs
• Complete understanding of the Con-way auto rating system (Base V) to include inputs, capabilities and limitations
• Identify rating problems and initiate resolutions to ensure correct invoicing
• Provide timely answers and quotes for requests received from the web, phone, or email
• Initial set up of off bill incentive (OBI) programs
• The ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Excel proficiency
• Prompt daily attendance at assigned work location
