Custom Built Design & Remodeling is seeking a Production Assistant to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
The Production Assistant is responsible for assisting the Production and Administrative teams with special projects and daily tasks.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Supports welcoming office environment by greeting guests, preparing camera for virtual meetings, and turning on lights and music.
- Utilizes Builder Trend and other software to update job progress, record jobsite daily log information, and enter change orders.
- Communicates with trade partners regarding signed/approved work orders.
- In collaboration with Production team, assists with warranty completion and satisfaction of warranty repairs.
- Communicates warranty information, material returns, and other relevant updates to customers as requested.
- Moves materials over short distances, such as to, from, and around worksites.
- Performs manual labor, such as hammering, demolition, shoveling, etc.
- Operates power machinery according to manufacturer and company safety guidelines.
- Sets up or inspects equipment prior to operation.
- Ensures required tools are at worksite and in good working order.
- Inspects, cleans, and maintains vehicles and equipment according to company standards.
- Ensures and maintains safe and clean worksite throughout duration of project and performs end of production clean based on safety/cleanliness guidelines.
- Attends Home Builder Association and other networking meetings/events as requested.
- Facilitates and plans quarterly trade partner breakfast based on checklist.
Job Requirements:
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of or current enrollment in coursework toward Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Training and Experience:
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record and ability to drive to worksites is required.
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
- Demonstrates knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Proficient at prioritizing and able to handle a variety of responsibilities simultaneously with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Works harmoniously and collaboratively with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions required in the line of work.
- Demonstrates knowledge of design trends, material costs, building codes and ADA laws, building systems, and construction methods.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Involves working in indoor and outdoor environments regularly exposed to extreme temperature, extreme noise, fumes, dust, etc.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to speak, hear, and see.
- Ability to sit, stand, push, pull, climb, or stoop.
- Ability to travel to assigned locations throughout the region.
Ability to travel to client worksite and to attend meetings in person as needed.
Regular M-F (7:30a-5p) onsite attendance at Custom Built's Okemos, MI office is required.
