Job Description
Leads, directs and manages the planning, development, implementation, production and maintenance of information technology, business systems, processes and support and service activities in conjunction with the specified business goals for each major division of the company.
* Strategic. Develops IT strategies which include funding levels, a prioritized application plan and organizational strategies to support company strategic and business plans; oversees identification and definition of integrated information systems needs; facilitates and organizes project teams to meet those needs; supports project teams as needed to ensure success.
* Operational. Directs and approves the methods, standards, techniques, hardware, software, systems and schedules required for IT to support corporate requirements; establishes and maintains controls and procedures to ensure all IT areas are performing significant tasks on schedule and within expense parameters; establishes, monitors and improves service delivery levels, reliability, availability, accuracy, serviceability and expense; oversees the activities of IT personnel including problem solving, task/assignment prioritization, conflict management, employee performance; responsible for preventing, improving, avoiding and reconciling intradepartmental issues; directs the continuing review of present corporate systems and methods; determines improvements that result in reduced cost, enhanced performance and improved efficiency; identifies and recommends programs to improve utilization of information management; consults with all levels of the company providing expertise, advice, problem solving and recommendations on information technology and solutions.
* Financial. Analyzes (or coordinates) all activity within assigned area for financial performance; prepares regular forecasts, estimates, adjustments and revisions based on changing business needs; monitors expenditures and resources within approved levels and company policy.
* Organizational. Leads intradepartmental communication improvements; prevents, avoids, corrects or reconciles intradepartmental communications issues; conducts regular reviews, individual meetings and team meetings to foster communication, resolves conflicts and solves problems; provide IT employees with coaching and mentoring for their professional development.
* General/Interpersonal/Leadership. Works to broaden communication with all level of management; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with individuals at all levels in the company; develops processes and fosters an attitude consistent with a 24x7x365 commitment to provide necessary support and service required to run business; develops technical and business proficiency through formal education and project assignments; acts as a role model of professionalism, proficiency, honesty and achievement orientation both inside and outside the department; performs as a Project Leader on occasion as required; supports, innovates and optimizes a team driven, flat organizational structure; sponsors interpersonal growth within the department.
* Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
* Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
* 10+ years experience in IT, engineering, marketing or manufacturing functional area; MBA a plus.
* Significant expertise in the MM or SD modules of SAP
* Certifications in selected technical areas or equivalent technical training and development.
* Strong project management orientation; organizational or management training; a proven success assignment record.
* Strong communication skills.
* Some travel required.
