Major Duties and Responsibilities
· Create a H&S injury free culture at the Saginaw Site
· Can review all industrial machinery/equipment and verify governmental/corporate compliance
· Knowledgeable on electrical safety, lockout, confined space, hazard communication with GHS compliant, fall hazard control, press safety, robotic safety, asbestos, radiation, lasers, mobile equipment, rigging, overhead crane, etc.
· Use 5 why incidents to correct action and process where required
· Investigate accidents and able to provide root cause corrective actions
· Performs H&S pre-audits and observation surveys
· Analyzes H&S statistics (i.e. OSHA 300 recordkeeping, accident investigations) and implement corrective action recommendations
· Works jointly with the UAW to resolve H&S complaints
· Co-chairs local plant health & safety review board(s)
· Knowledgeable in chemical safety to review MSDS’s or SDS’s for company approval
· Knowledge of governmental OSHA/MIIOSHA and company H&S policies and procedures
· Advises Site/Plant Leadership of proper interpretation of corporate/governmental health & safety regulations, policies and procedures
· Able to develop / maintain company health & safety policies and procedures
