The scheduler effectively plans, prepares, and implements production scheduling to achieve optimal customer service levels. Responsible for inventory plans that will enable the company to meet sales and service objectives. Performs capacity analyses and makes capital equipment recommendations. Implements flow manufacturing techniques where appropriate; and provides other support to production and management as required.
Essential Functions:
- Plans and schedules production orders based on established priorities and the availability of required materials and capacity.
- Participate in production meetings to gather the information necessary to prepare production schedules.
- Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping date according to sales forecasts and customer orders. Actively manage the production schedule.
- Assists in planning raw material requirements using Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) as appropriate
- Follows and audits production orders through the production process to ensure the proper schedule is followed.
- Monitors daily manufacturing system transactions for accuracy and works with leads to correct discrepancies and eliminate the fundamental causes of the problems.
- Develops production schedules to meet all finished goods requirements while optimizing capacity usage.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel and management on material status and production planning issues.
- Actively participate in ongoing continuous improvement internally and externally to improve operations
- Inform proper departments of any delays or problems, and ensure a timely response/corrective actions.
- Monitors inventory levels in order to meet scheduling needs
- Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Communicate with other departments as necessary.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Adhere to all company rules and policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
