Custom Built Design & Remodeling is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Finance Manager serves as a key Leadership Team member and strategic business partner to support Custom Built's financial vision and to be a part of the team responsible for successful company operations. The Finance Manager leads the Finance Team and collaborates with the Sales Team to follow the Custom Built process to positively impact families. The Finance Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the financial functions, leadership of the Finance Team, and the company's balance sheet, income statement, and overall financial reporting, planning and control processes.
- Follows the EOS Principals and engages in the LMA formula of leading and managing the Finance Team (Leadership + Management = Accountability).
- Oversees and administers the financial functions of the business.
- Manages the processes for financial forecasting and budgets.
- Advises on long-term business and financial planning.
- Develops and implements organizational fiscal plans and policies.
- Oversees/administers Payroll and Simple IRA Plan including processing, calculations, funding and commission calculations, recording and payouts.
- Oversees the Finance/Accounting Team and its functions including AP/AR, general ledger, bank and account reconciliations.
- Conducts performance reviews, provides coaching as needed, and supports the professional growth and development of the Finance/Accounting Team.
- Serves as a member of the Leadership Team and actively participates in Leadership L10 & Leadership daily huddle.
- Collaborates with HR for effective hiring, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding of employees.
- Assists with 3rd party audits and reviews including preparation and reporting as needed.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, economics, finance or equivalent preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Training and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial position within the trades industry preferred. Ability to work autonomously and with little guidance. Displays the confidence and competence to gain/maintain the organization's credibility. Takes initiative to learn, develop oneself and see things through from start to finish. Excellent interpersonal communication and computer skills; ability to operate standard office equipment. Ability to engage in active listening and communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
Regular M-F (7:30a-5p) onsite attendance at Custom Built's Okemos, MI office is required with future possibility of hybrid/remote work as needed based on business needs.
