Origami Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center is seeking a full time Psychologist with strong communication, initiation, attention to detail, organization, and thorough documentation skills. Motivation and enthusiasm for working amongst an interdisciplinary team in a dynamic, post-acute environment with persons who have sustained a brain injury is required.
Responsibilities:
Applicant will be responsible for clinically evaluating and treating clients and their involved family members across Origami’s spectrum of programs including residential, day treatment, community integration, and outpatient.
Clinical populations and areas of focus include the following:
• Comprehensive holistic neurorehabilitation approach addressing brain injury and co-occurring problems
• Mild to severe brain injuries of clients aged 16+
• Post-traumatic stress disorder
• Behavior modification
• Personality changes secondary to the injury
• Veterans
Additional duties include training Origami employees and community-based healthcare professionals, contributing to program development and clinical outcome measurement tools, and working closely with clients and family through individual sessions and facilitation of regular education-based support groups. Applicant will build and maintain close collaboration and strong communication with family members and other support systems or external stakeholders. Supervisory responsibilities for graduate level practicum students.
Requirements:
• Limited licensed in the state of Michigan, or limited licensed in another state and license-eligible with requirement to obtain a license in Michigan prior to starting
• Overall 3 year minimum clinical experience
Preferred Experience:
• Licensed in the state of Michigan, or licensed in another state and license-eligible with requirement to obtain a license in Michigan prior to starting
• Clinical or rehabilitation psychology experience with brain injury or similar cognitive-behavioral disability
• Training groups
• Certified Brain Injury Specialist designation
• Experience presenting or speaking to groups
• Public relations or media exposure
