The Early Career Manufacturing Engineer designs and develops manufacturing engineering process drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software. This role requires strong knowledge of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing engineering for aerospace and military ball screw assemblies.
- Applies and analyzes mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards
- Collaborates with staff engineers to resolve production problems in a manner that maximizes product reliability and minimizes cost
- Designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace using drafting tools and computer software to conceptualize and implement efficient production methods
- Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities
- Estimates production costs and the effects of product design changes and reviews findings with management to help control, prevent, and eliminate waste
- Implements procedures for the disposition of discrepant material and damaged or defective parts by identifying and eliminating problems and assessing cost and responsibility
Required:
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, and procedures to the design & production of a variety of components.
- Knowledge of manufacturing concepts (raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost)
- Strong mathematics background (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics and their applications).
- Proficiency using computer-based data entry systems such as MS Office, and Oracle
- Strong knowledge in 3D modeling using Pro-E or other 3D CAD, and CAM tool path software
- Experienced in GD&T
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experienced in machining, especially CNC equipment, and CMM inspection software
AutoCAD experience and/or training
