Responsibility:
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all electrical and mechanical manufacturing equipment.
Process:
- Plans details of working procedure by determining replacement needs or new material required and develops a logical approach to correcting the problem and set-up of new automation process lines.
- Develops improvements to existing production processes and design changes to the system as required.
- Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials, and principles of operation of electrical equipment. Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown with OSHA requirements.
- Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuit boards, PLCs, and similar devices. Guides others in troubleshooting robotic and PLC units.
- Designs and fabricates parts if not commercially available, using machinist or electrical trades associated tools and machines.
- Actively participate as a member of the Plant’s Safety Committee, supporting all OSHA guidelines.
- Determines the need for analyzing, making necessary running adjustment repairs, overhauls, and training of maintenance personnel and operators.
- Continuously improve job safety rating.
- Qualified to restart operations, clear robot faults, modify programs, and train and assist technicians.
- Write and/or modify PLC programs for new and existing machines and equipment.
- Recommends and proposes acquisition of hardware and software for PLC and robotics.
- Basic troubleshooting of PC and Printers on the Shop Floor.
- Installing Windows updates on PCs.
- Basic software troubleshooting and escalation.
- Assist in maintaining plant IT score.
All other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
