We have an exciting opportunity for a System Specialist within our new Power Electronics team that will be located in Troy, MI
Responsibilities:
Champion System Architecture Design, implementation and planning - in particular.
Perform system level trade off analysis, balance system feature, performance and cost to guide design decision.
Own the system architecture design, hardware software interfaces and describe the dynamic behavior of the interactions between system elements.
Interface with cross competencies for ICs selection, deep dive into resource allocation and peripheral configuration.
Establish and maintain bidirectional traceability and consistency between system requirements and system architecture elements
Drive and refine the design of power electronics system architecture ensuring that all developed working products deliver an optimal solution that meets various requirements that balances efficiency, power density, reliability, quality, and cost.
Lead the investigation of specific technical obstacles present to engineering teams during system integration.
Act as manufacturing interface for successful realization of the sample builds.
Lead in the research and analysis of products in the market, as well as for the EE/System architecture roadmap offerings in the Vehicle Electrification domain.
Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant engineering field required.
3+ years of systems engineering experience.
Sophisticated knowledge in Hardware / Software Engineering on vehicle/component level features.
Sophisticated knowledge in Hardware / Software of embedded architectures, and related characterization methods for quantifying system-level performance of their processors, memory systems, networking / peripheral interfaces, power states etc.
Innate curiosity to figure out complex systems by decomposing them through the application of first-principles, an ability to translate this into measurable metrics, and a drive to optimize design performance by these means.
Experience in ISO 26262 for safety product development, and ISO 21434, SAE J3061 for automotive cyber security development.
Experience in usage and development of SysML/UML based designs.
Ability to influence and socialize technical ideas across the engineering team.
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
Master's degree in Power Electronics, Automotive Engineering or relevant engineering field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with all functions.
