The CAD Designer creates and/or modifies 2D drawings and 3D models of all products and components within the Viking product line. Responsible for maintaining all files and information related to the drawings.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of drafting principles, utilizing SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Maintains the company's CAD Standards, including all related documentation.
- Creates drawings and models from written and verbal specifications obtained from engineering.
- Apply the appropriate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances as required.
- Maintains all drawings, models and office documents generated from the engineering change system.
- Utilize the product data management (PDM) system to control engineering files.
- Finishes assigned tasks and adhered to deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards.
- Assist other departments with the creation of various electronic files, including pdf's and step files.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in drafting or related field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience
- Proficient with SolidWorks modeling and drawings.
- Proficient with GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009.
