Main Responsibilities
Provides support resources on new product launch programs, providing the manufacturing input for development of new process and improvements to existing processes and equipment
Directly supervises the duties of the AME as specified in the Product Realization Process (PRP).
Responsible for Tooling Process AMErelated continuous improvement (e.g., cycle times, scrap, quality, material cost reduction, etc.) through the launch cycle.
Develops plans for process improvement and will have specific areas of accountability in its execution
Oversees the successful hand-off of processes, Tooling, and documentation from launch team to SOP
Participates in the creation of competency goals
Manages a portion of the AME budget as it relates to their teams (Headcount, Travel Costs, Training, Tools, etc)
Conducts regular reviews of performance and development goal achievements
Ability to plan, organize, communicate, and motivate employees. Must be able to prioritize own workday schedule
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to understand necessary safety procedures and precautions
MSO compliance to schedules including accuracy of the information and sign off at all gates
Specific Requirements
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
*Equivalent work experience may also be considered for this position. This would include 8-12 years tool maker and 5 years in Management position
Required Qualifications
5-9 years or more with Automotive Manufacturing company
Thorough understanding of equipment design concepts
Mechanical Aptitude for problem solving
Experience with various manufacturing technologies (injection molding)
Experience with supplier and customer communication
Preferred Qualifications
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Trained
Assembly processing skills: Line balance, Automation, Design Feasibility, PLC programming, etc
Experience with various manufacturing technologies (sonic / hot plate/ IR welding, mechanical fastening, packaging, foam, FIP and Slush)

Works closely with others, perhaps within a foot of another person
Work is indoor in a manufacturing setting that may not be temperature controlled.
May frequent manufacturing plants and must follow all rules while visiting locations.
