GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Information Technology Specialist oversees and conducts computer-related operations of the corporation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- In coordination with CMU OIT and the College of Medicine, ensure all technology critical to operations is functioning, develop and maintain plans for disruption of service, and swift repair to minimize any and all impact to
- Responsible for design and development of the corporate network
- Maintain, upgrade and problem solve issues facing the network system while accommodating new technology; maintain downtime logs on the network issues surrounding its functioning
- Consult with departments to identify key personnel and contacts and establish notification processes for communicating in the event of
- Payroll & Accounting System
- Perform all maintenance of corporation's billing system
- Correspond and serve as liaison between the corporation and vendors
- Complete daily reports and upgrades
- Problem solve as needed - performing any program changes, database conversion, or database structure enhancements to augment the billing
- Intranet and Forms Design
- Identifies business needs, negotiates priorities, trains users, and designs
- General Support
- Maintain computer equipment and accessories through (but not limited to) the installation and upgrade of software, perform troubleshooting, and needs assessment, and individualized training in multiple software packages
- Consult with administrators, make recommendations for the needs of technology usage at the individual and corporate-wide information systems level
- Maintain an inventory of all equipment and its users, as well as those issues that are a hindrance to corporate technology usage (e.g. a log on network downtime) so that future operations can be more efficient

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
General office environment, requiring computer usage (prolonged sitting, eye strain).
