GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Operations Manager – Behavioral Medicine is responsible for the operations of CMU Medical Education Partners (CMEP) Department of Behavioral Medicine, including the management of clinic staff and in collaboration with the Medical Director regarding faculty scheduling and clinical/business operations. In addition, he/she will work with the Program Director to meet resident supervision and patient-care needs, collaborating with the Medical Director and all Psychiatry Faculty to continuously improve patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- In collaboration with the Medical Director and Director of Operations, responsible for administrative oversight of all CMEP Behavioral Medicine clinics, including but not limited to management of each provider’s template and clinic schedule, maintaining minimal unfilled appointment slots and improving provider relations, employee engagement, patient satisfaction, timely open encounter resolution, clinic cycle time, point of service collections, etc.
- In collaboration with the Medical Director and Program Director, maintains the master schedule of all physician and APP providers to meet educational, clinical and contractual obligations.
- In collaboration with the Medical Director, CL Physician Lead or Program Director, assists in communicating changes in coverage and/or scheduling to internal and external call centers, hospitals and other partnering organizations.
- Directly responsible for maintenance or improvement of standard clinic workflows, protocols, and clinic budget.
- Use data to positively impact decision-making; collaborate with others to make recommendations and use dashboards or reports to enable data-driven management.
- Understands and supports quality, safety and performance improvement initiatives based on organization or department priorities.
- Hire, train, counsel, support, develop and evaluate the performance of direct reports to current standards, expected behaviors, corporate values and policies.
- Adhere to leadership expectations and maintain semiannual performance evaluations on all direct reports.
- Approve and submit timesheets for providers and staff within the department.
- Evaluate and manage clinical equipment and other assets and recommend necessary expenditures to the Director of Operations.

TRAVEL
Minimal travel between CMU clinic locations. Occasional conference travel.
