MinimumRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or in business with significant accounting coursework Advanced computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Minimum three (3) years’ experience with computerized accounting systems Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks
Good verbal and written language skills Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Desired Requirements:
Experience in Michigan K-12 public school business operations Experience with State and Federal Grants
Experience with payroll systems and employee benefits Experience with Medicaid reporting
Experience with L4029, 4094, 4096, FID and other state reports Manage month end process through Financial Statement prep
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assistance with completion of grant applications, budgets, fund requests and final expenditure reports
Month end and year-end journal entries for all district funds Reconciliation of all balance sheets, bank and investment accounts Manage student activity account
Computerized file transfers as required for payroll and other reporting requirements Assistance with processing Accounts Payable and Payroll transactions as needed Online transfers between district bank accounts and cash flow analysis Reconciliation of local property tax revenue
Oversight of food service fund accounting and preparation of school meals claim
Processing all free and reduced food service applications, food service audit management and reporting
Maintenance of fixed asset records and depreciation schedules Expenditure and budget tracking for Capital Projects fund
Development of database queries to improve reporting of financial information Preparation of year end audit schedules and coordination of audit process
Preparation and analytical review of financial information for administrative-level decision making
