Director of Business Intelligence & Reporting
The Director of Business Intelligence & Reporting has responsibility for retail business insights, analytics, data warehouse, performance management and reporting across the Comerica retail business portfolio and impact to Wealth & Commercial for retail oriented data. This role will build a leading business insights, reporting and analytics organization, focused on managing data integrity and providing valuable insights. Outcomes will include driving competitive advantage and operational excellence.
The individual will provide observations of current and historical data trends, interpret cause and effect patterns found in data, and apply historical experience relevant to current day decision making through in-person and electronic communication channels with senior leaders of the bank. The position serves to condense billions of data points from 50+ sources into consumable / actionable information for managers mainly within the Retail Bank, but occasionally in other business lines as well.
Individual will oversee the requirements documentation, process design and development, data validation, testing, and distribution of business information, managing a team of individuals who collectively produce 4000+ scheduled reports and complete 150-250 project requests annually. These reports and projects support:
Consumer Lending and Total Bank Deposit interest rate pricing
Portfolio analysis and forecasting for Retail Bank loan/mortgage, deposit, and payment products
Analysis for securities backed lending
Customer valuation, retention, product usage, and channel usage reporting
Customer Remediation Efforts
Risk identification and monitoring
Business case development
Corporate Initiatives
The Director will lead direction and services for business intelligence and visualization, self-service data presentation, Retail specific analytics, KPIs, impacting KRIs, and underlying Data Management. A key expectation for the role is to partner with Marketing and Technology teams to ensure data warehouse/management platforms currently in use observe enterprise data and technology standards. The Director will define and oversee a broad transformation business insight and reporting plan for data evaluation, consolidation and standardization.
Responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to identify and develop strategic opportunities into solutions including delivery to C-Suite and their direct level audiences.
Experience leading a BI & Reporting function that has delivered strong value to the business via insights, data maturity and governance
Proven ability to work with both executive and senior organizational partners to achieve common goals (software, hosting, system implementors).
Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
Experience with cloud platforms such as Power BI, Qlik, Azure Data Lake, and/or MS SQL
Knowledge of performance reporting standards and best practices for retail and commercial banking processes
Strong project management skills and able to concurrently oversee portfolio of small enhancements to complex/large projects.
Effective communicator at all levels of the organization to ensure alignment on strategy and priorities.
Ability to create simplified but compelling presentations and visuals
Strong interpersonal skills, service orientation and ability to deal effectively in a team environment and successfully influence outcomes.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Advanced knowledge of project management, Agile and traditional SDLC principles, practices, techniques, and tools.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
10 years experience with metric based data analysis, identifying trends, separating cause from correlation, and projecting possible outcomes. Consumer banking loan, deposit, payment, and E-banking product experience expected.
10 years Data Management: Extracting, cleansing, standardizing, and storing data using a variety of desktop and mainframe tools. Knowledge of Comerica loan, deposit, payment and E-Banking application systems is preferred.
