Summary:
The role of Payroll Analyst involves processing payroll in a timely and accurate manner. Responsible for the performing of analytical duties, auditing of accounts, facilitating functions related to specific payroll processes, process documentation and file maintenance. The Payroll Analyst demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Responsibilities:
- Process company’s payroll every pay period (biweekly) for 4500+ employees.
- Reconcile payroll transactions to Payroll Registers.
- Maintain current knowledge & ensure compliance of State and Federal wage laws & prepare/process/transmit federal, state and local tax funding file and reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain payroll related information within the company’s database.
- Monitor and maintain company payroll handbook.
- Process and transmit file to third party vendors.
- Research and answer staff questions about wages, deductions, etc.
- Identify and implement resolutions for problematic payroll issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Associates Degree in Finance, Accounting or other business related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in Payroll or Human Resources.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Excellent Customer service & communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure/deadlines
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with others/departments.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Familiar with payroll software, especially Infor/Lawson.
- Basic understanding of tax procedures, benefits and other wage deductions.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
