Job Summary
The Enterprise Project and Performance Improvement Manager will provide direction and oversight to the Department of Enterprise Project and Performance Improvement. Working with the executive team, he/she will guide and facilitate the continuous Performance Improvement initiatives across a governance approved Portfolio of Projects leveraging both Lean and Project Management methodologies to achieve results. The manager will lead, facilitate, and support Performance Improvement initiatives as well as manage a portfolio of projects to ensure our systems and processes result in high-quality, cost-effective care, and engaged workforce, and a remarkable patient experience. The main factions will include but are not limited to leading, teaching, and coaching on Lean & Project Management principles and tools, managing specific projects and portfolio oversight, coordinating Rapid improvement Event Work, communicating success, and driving a sustainable culture of Lean & Project Management fundamentals for Continuous Performance Improvement throughout the organization. Job Responsibilities
- Support the long-range strategic objectives of Covenant HealthCare through continuous interaction with senior leaders to identify areas of necessary improvement and creating projects and gathering resources to achieve goals. Effects positive change in the delivery of patient and family centered care.
- Work with key stakeholders (patients, physicians, administrators, nursing staff and the team members) to identify, address, and eliminate obstacles either process-related or people-related
- Work with Department Directors and Managers/Supervisors to resolve any issues that might arise during implementation and/or maintenance phases. Establish effective communication systems and means to appraise all team members, as well as internal and external customers of EPPI results.
- Ensure necessary training specific to process improvement, project management, and lean tools is provided as necessary and required Implement and maintain systems and processes to track all changes/improvements made and provide leadership with the assurance that changes are effective and lasting.
- Coach and teach visual management
- Coach and facilitate financial benefits analysis and ROI tracking for events and projects.
- Assists all team members at all levels of the organization in developing Lean and Project Management knowledge, skills and attitudes through the deployment of effective coaching and training
- Ensures teams are trained on Lean tools in advance of scheduled events
- Ensures teams are coached on applicable Lean tools during events as needed Adhere to the Mission, Vision and Values of Covenant HealthCare Adherence to system and department policies and requirements
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects • Work within governance structure to prioritize, approve, schedule, initiate, and execute strategic projects.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Develop a detailed project plan where necessary to monitor and track progress
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Measure performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Successfully manage the relationship with all stakeholders
- Perform risk management to minimize risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation
- Manager a portfolio of projects assigned to EPPI.
- Proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must have a strong working knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, business operations and workflows with an understanding of how they interrelate to other departments in the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated capabilities in follow-up activities.

Other information
- Bachelor’s degree required. Masters preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5-years leading Projects or Lean Continuous Improvement
- 2 years of Leadership experience required.
- 3+ years of management healthcare experience preferred as evidenced by 3-5 years' experience in an integrated healthcare system with knowledge of clinical healthcare processes and systems
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification preferred
- Lean certification preferred.
- Epic Certification Preferred.
