Keweenaw Waters Resort seeks a Licensed Plumber to join their resort team in Houghton, Michigan.
The Plumber joins Houghton, Michigan’s newest recreational resort boasting 25 acres of waterfront on the Portage Canal. The resort includes a variety of 1–5 bedroom modern cabins along with 79 full hookup campsites—-all perfect for a family event, reunion, business stay, or romantic getaway.
A portion of the Resort recently opened while the remaining phases are in various stages of completion. You will be the second person hired on this team and are a key player in the Copper Country’s premier vacation experience—-Keweenaw Waters Resort.
WHAT YOU WILL DO.
- Commercial/resort service and installation plumbing projects.
- Major installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, hot water, and heating systems.
- Routine maintenance, service, and repair work.
- Tend to plumbing service calls in a timely and efficient manner.
WHAT WE OFFER.
- $80,000 – $110,000 annual starting salary. As the resort grows, your salary has room to grow as well.

- Full-time Monday–Friday position generally working from 8am–4pm. Flexibility required for emergency repair callouts which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Schedule flexibility available.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Plumber license required; Master Plumber a bonus.
- Mechanical Contractor license preferred, or willingness to obtain license if hired for this position.
- Experience in resort, hotel or hospitality industry helpful, but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Someone with an exceptional work ethic that can be relied upon.
- Experience using tools of the trade (plumbing snakes, augers, drills, saws, hammers, measuring tape, levels, screwdrivers, etc.).
- Experience with both service and installation plumbing required.
- Your safety is most important. You must be able to work independently while always being mindful of your surroundings and taking all necessary safety precautions.
- Strong verbal communication, troubleshooting and critical thinking skills are required as you will listen and ask appropriate questions on requests/complaints and provide solutions that are beneficial for both the guest and the Resort.
- Ability to handle the physical workload and perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
- Willingness to work in various types of weather conditions (hot, cold, humid, windy, snowy, wet, etc.).
