Position Summary
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Advises non-immigrant students, scholars, and employees on academic, language learning, personal and immigration problems and/or regulations in order to enhance learning, resolve problems, or facilitate adjustment to the University. Instructs and advises university departments on appropriate visas, forms and procedures in order to hire temporary or permanent non-immigrant faculty, scholars, and students. Develops and prepares materials, programs and presentations in order to orient new students, scholars and employees to the University. Ensures university compliance with federal immigration reporting regulations for non-immigrant students, scholars and employees. Interprets Federal regulations, updates materials and procedure manuals and answers questions from staff and public in order to provide information on policies and procedures related to international educations.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge acquired by completing a Bachelor's Degree in Law, Legal Studies, Education, or related field and 12 months experience in any related position in international legal advising. Must have one year of experience in legal research and advising on immigration regulations.
