Overview / Responsibilities Wood Applied Intelligence -CEC Controls is currently recruiting for a Controls Software Lead to join our team in Metro Detroit, MI. The office site is Warren Michigan with some work from home opportunities, as well as client sites during project commissioning and standby phases. We are looking for a Controls Software Lead that must know the various programming software used by our Controls Engineering Department and help manage licensing, help with configurations, and have a good knowledge of Virtual Machines and how to work with them. Responsibilities: * As a representative of our Engineering Department, you will have to work with our corporate IT Department to ensure compliance with our security policies. * Work with our entire Engineering Department to understand the needs of our customers so computers and VMs can be configured and prepared for work. * Solve configuration issues as they arise, must be available for night shift and weekend remote support as needed. * Intimate knowledge of VMWare Workstation is required as this is the environment used to set up the programming software. * This includes how to build a proper VM environment to maximize machine efficiency. * Work with IT Department annually to license all our software to stay within compliance. #hybrid remote Skills / Qualifications Education and Qualifications * Bachelor of Computer Science, or equivalent relevant work experience with a technical degree or certificate * 3 years plus of industry experience * Knowledge of system architecture, and many communication protocols is a must * Technical knowledge and skills required: * RSLogix 5, 5000, Studio * RS Networx for DeviceNet, ControlNet, EtherNet IP * DriveExecutive, DriveExplorer * PanelBuilder PDS, 1400e; 32, RSView Studio * Siemens S7 and Siemens TIA Portal * Microsoft Office 365 a plus * Capable of assisting with machine and VM configurations to ensure our Engineering Department is prepared for commissioning efforts in the field * Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere * Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required Physical Requirements: * Able to travel to customer site and help at location. * This is often a lot of walking to get to a location * All while carrying a backpack with various cables and PC tools Company Overview Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
