Join our team! The City of Kentwood is seeking applicants for a City Planning Intern. The internship will provide a college student in a degree program dealing in planning, public administration or a closely related field, practical experience, exposure to daily operations, and supplement the planning services provided to the community.
The hourly pay rate for this internship is $17.00. The City of Kentwood offers free access to an employee assistance program. Main responsibilities for this role include researching and reviewing plans for ordinance regulations, investigating zoning complaints, performing field surveys and investigations related to planning and zoning projects, drafting written communications and preparing and making oral or graphic presentations to Boards and Commissions or community groups.
Our ideal candidate is pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in planning, public administration or a closely related field and has a valid driver's license. Prior experience with GIS software is preferred. Please view the full job description and requirements for more details.
