- Cultivate communication with carriers and internal customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process that supports organizational goals
- Stay informed of market dynamics and trends to support commodity success.
- Capacity to manage key suppliers through best-in-class Supplier Relationship Management practices, such as contract management, scorecards, business reviews and other tools & processes
- Prepare required documentation for supplier meetings or negotiations.
- Prepare presentations to management for sourcing events.
- Prepare supplier RFIs, RFQs, and Commercial Agreements
- Maintain consistent communication with suppliers to ensure RFQ timelines are met.
- Perform financial analysis of RFQ results to determine overall cost competitiveness.
- Make sourcing recommendations based upon RFI and RFQ results.
- Continuously improve from current/past practices to result in cost reductions, process improvements, and higher customer satisfaction.
- Implement of KPI reporting standards for Logistics within all Adient locations, retrieving data from plants, carrying out consistency checks, data tracking and consolidation, reporting.
- Economic calculation and cost optimization of concepts and processes projects in Logistics and Supply Chain management.
- Identify and implement cost reductions
- Negotiate cost avoidances for suppliers requesting cost increases
- Execute strategic sourcing strategies
- Expedite launches and critical programs
- Ensure supplier adherence to Adient Terms and Conditions
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance against contracted goals through contract management.
- Develop new supplier performance metrics across other business units.
- Escalation points for supplier quality and service complaints – ensure timely resolution on complaints outside of performance metrics.
- Lead the collection and analysis of supplier reported information. Use analysis to improve or redesign reporting systems to better meet strategic goals
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Finance/ Operations or related business discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in a logistic role
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Ability to prioritize, organize and perform thorough work to solve problems
- Capacity to manage key suppliers through best-in-class Supplier Relationship Management practices
- Experience using tools and capabilities to enhance productivity of supply chain teams
