The Central Maintenance Mechanic will be a member of our Central Maintenance Department and will report to the Supervisor of 2nd shift. The Mechanic will be responsible for equipment reliability, and includes repairs for all mechanical equipment supporting manufacturing and production operations, general fabrication and other repair/maintenance related duties which are the responsibility of the Central Maintenance Department for the Ada complex and other off-site facilities. This includes preventative maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and repair of all the equipment, systems and processes contained within these facilities.

- Monitor and maintain equipment reliability. This will include determining problems, correcting issues, and involves the maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment, including transmission drives, drive belts, conveyor belts, sprockets, chains, bearings and rollers.
- Perform preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records for all equipment under the responsibility of the Central Maintenance Department.
- Install new and used equipment.
- Perform modification and fabrication for existing equipment within the facilities.
- Diagnose and correct problems with conveyor systems, pumping systems, hydraulic systems, compressed air systems and lubrication systems.

- Technical school (or equivalent) education is required along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field. A Journeyman certificate in a mechanical trade and 8 years of experience is preferred.
- A valid State of Michigan Driver’s license.
- The ability to understand and interpret blue prints, technical manuals and related documents.
- A demonstrated history of being a dependable and cohesive team member.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication, system air balancing, pneumatic and electrical controls.
This position will require employees to be available Monday through Saturday with the department determining which days will comprise the 40 hour work week based upon production and scheduling demands.
This position may be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
