Pay and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $63,671- $81,263. The City of Kentwood offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 9% employer retirement plan contribution, nine paid holidays, three floating holidays, 12 sick days, up to four weeks of vacation annually.
We’re proud to be among the first municipal employers in West Michigan to offer a fully paid parental leave benefit. Our policy provides employees with four weeks of fully paid leave following birth, adoption or placement for adoption. Employees who give birth are eligible for an additional two weeks of leave for a total of six weeks fully paid.
We also offer competitive medical insurance with a 2% employee premium share, ranging from $7.50-$17 biweekly. Position Summary
Main responsibilities for this role include performing a variety of public safety and law enforcement services to protect the life and property of the City’s residents and visitors.
Our ideal candidate has a minimum of an associate degree upon completion of basic training academy and meets the following requirements:
- At least 18 years of age;
- A United States citizen at the time of testing for the position;
- No felony convictions;
- Valid Michigan driver's license prior to hire date;
- Attended a police academy; and
- Qualifies for MCOLES licensing by September 20th, 2023.
