Job Summary:
Performs design, implementation, maintenance and daily operation of key network infrastructure. Researches network solutions and technologies. Provides project planning and execution on new Infrastructure projects with network design and detailed network documentation. Designs and implement s configuration of network management tools and systems. Investigates and analyzes network/system requirements and develops system specifications. Coordinates with vendors, ISPs, and other IT staff to optimize network and quickly resolve issues. Responsibilities also include supporting end users, maintaining security infrastructure, planning and coordinating system utilization, performing capacity planning. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.
Job Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Implements, monitors and supports WAN, LAN, WLAN VoIP and other business critical systems
Administers network infrastructure, performs patching and upgrades
Troubleshoots network infrastructure to identify and correct operational issues
Monitors network performance to ensure availability and reliability
Configures and installs various network devices and services including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS
Works within established design and change management policy to ensure proper communication of network changes
Ensures that systems are installed and maintained to adhere to best practices in security.
Ensures that records for equipment inventory, licenses, and contracts are properly maintained.
Works with network providers and third party vendors
Provides 2nd and 3rd tier help desk support for employees. Provides on-call support to as required.
Researches new technology products to enhance company operations
Communicates with employees at all levels of the organization on related issues daily.
Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and Safety Regulations consistently
Required Competencies & Knowledge:
Knowledge of:
Technical knowledge of Key Business Systems. This may include, based on specific assignment:
oNetwork technology including routing and switching (Cisco), VLANs, TCP/IP concepts, VPN, WAN technologies, Wireless connectivity
oNetwork monitoring and analysis tools
oFirewall and network logging tools
oActive Directory, Windows Server
oVoIP systems and services
oVMWare, and managing servers in a virtual environment
Ability to learn and support key business systems
Working knowledge of IT best practices, including security protocols and policies
Familiarity with equipment and applications used in a manufacturing environment, including label printers, scanners, process control interfaces.

Work Environment:
Work is primarily done in an office setting.
Minimal production environment exposure which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, fork lifts, and fluctuations in temperature.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting at a work station for extended periods of time
Stand, walk, climb stairs on a frequent basis
Must be able to lift 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
4-6 years of experience in Network Administration or equivalent
4 year degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
Cisco Certification is a plus
