Founded in 1995, Turning Leaf Behavioral Health Services is a vastly growing CARF accredited treatment provider offering a variety of supports to adults with a primary diagnosis of mental illness as well as co-occurring diagnoses including: personality disorders, developmental disabilities and/or substance use. Turning Leaf partners with agencies across the State of Michigan to provide customized clinical supports designed to meet each individual’s needs.
Overview: Direct Support Professionals provide supervision and safety for residents living at Turning Leaf Residential Rehabilitation Services, Inc.. Ensure quality living standards are maintained as it relates to cleanliness, nutrition, and general health needs of mental health care recipients. Maintain a professional caregiver relationship with residents of Turning Leaf while modeling and guiding appropriate social interaction.
Qualifications: HS Diploma/GED/equivalent required. 2+ years of human services or direct care experience preferred, not required. CENA, MA, PCT and/or advanced degree preferred, not required. Experience with medication passing preferred, not required. DSP must be dependable, have a willingness to learn and develop oneself, and have the ability to come up with creative ways to solve problems.
Contingencies: All hires are subject to completing the Michigan Longterm Care Workforce Background Check. All hires must have valid MI driver’s license or State ID, Proof of Education AND TB Test, prior to hire. All hires must be able to complete the required healthcare screening within 30 days of hire. This health screening includes the hire having the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
COVID Compensation Schedule:
Direct Support Professional – Level I: $14/hr
($11.75 base wage + COVID Bonus* + Performance Bonus*)
Lead Direct Support Professional – Level II: $15/hr
($12.75 base + COVID Bonus* + Performance Bonus*)
Note: Lead DSP roles are based on program need/openings.
Direct Support Professional – Probationary/Ineligible Driver: $12.50/hr
($10.50 base wage + COVID Bonus* + Performance Bonus)
*COVID Bonus: Bonus is paid at $2.35 per each hour worked in pay period. Employee must remain favorably employed through pay period to remain eligible for bonus. Bonus does not apply to overtime rate – overtime is paid at 1.5x base wage.
*Performance bonus: Bonus is paid at $1.00 per each hour worked in pay period. Employee must meet criteria to earn performance bonus each pay period.
