Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Project Manager, Talent and Sector Strategy, the Associate Project Manager, GEM Talent and Sector Strategy supports the establishment of a network of talent facing service providers, as well as stakeholder engagement efforts to develop innovative talent solutions for the Mobility Sector.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports GEM Talent Network Strategy implementation
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to sub-awardees
- Develops relationships with and serves as support to all project stakeholders
- Support the negotiation and management of GEM talent-facing and network alignment partners, contracts, and invoices, serving as a point of contact for GEM talent network in southeast Michigan region.
- Support regular outreach and clear communications to the various groups relying on multiple strategies as set forth by the department
- Attend and support meetings of the employer groups, including executives, work groups of their staff, and talent partners as required or necessary
- Collaborate with Employer facing team if need to conduct ongoing outreach to and engagement of new potential companies and talent partners
- Support collaborative planning for annual employer mobility skills panels and annual institute for regional mobility sector partnerships
- Completes all required data entry in customer relations management (CRM) system and other data systems required under grant.
- Support and attend career exposure workshops at college and high school levels
- Support marketing and communications efforts related to the cluster’s career awareness efforts (e.g., social media strategies, traditional media strategies, participation in career fairs, etc.)
- Supports the development and issuance of Requests for Proposals & contracts for service providers and vendors required to support the talent & network facing deliverables, and maintains all required support documents and processes.
- Compiles and develops reports
- Participates in program planning as requested
- Collaborate with the internal GEM team working on talent strategies (includes career pipelines, career awareness, research, data, etc.)
- Participate as required in DRP organized GEM events and work groups
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
All SEMCA team members are expected to be technically competent and committed to continuous development of their skills. The following skills, knowledge and education or certifications are specifically required for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Strong customer service aptitude
- Understanding of the mobility industry and the regional talent ecosystems, and a clear desire to establish expertise in these areas
- Compiles and develops reports
- Ability to work in community engagement and multi-stakeholder meetings, including working in a collaborative community environment, representing SEMCA in various community activities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to collect, monitor, and analyze data
- Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task responsibilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with a high degree of dependability and quality
- Evidence of creative thinking, supporting problem resolution, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Strong desire to learn and innovate
Desired Skills:
- Two years’ experience in workforce development and community/employer outreach activities
- Salesforce CRM
- Ability to execute projects independently
- Knowledge of the SEMCA regional business community
- Portfolio or presentation of experiences
Physical Demands
Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer, vision to read printed materials on an LCD screen and smartphone, hearing, and speech sufficient to communicate in person and over the telephone.
