Summary:
The Materials Compliance Contractor is responsible for providing regulatory compliance support for products and raw materials sampled, used, manufactured, transported and sold. The position requires familiarity with the international, federal, state and local regulations and requirements pertaining to chemical composition, chemical compatibility, regulatory hazard communication, hazardous materials classification, and transportation.
Primary Responsibilities:
— Provide content and publish product Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and label warning statements in compliance with all applicable regulations and languages of the various regions
— Ensure customer regulatory requests and queries are responded to in a timely manner
— Create label content in compliance with NSF, Marine Pollutant, HMIS, NFPA, California Proposition 65 regulations
— Work closely with Technology Department to provide timely assessments of developmental materials, including chemical materials and formulations, in order to assure that health and safety, chemical compatibility, transportation, and global chemical control regulatory issues are fully understood relative to internal use, business impact, and customer requirements
— Maintain products and raw materials handling database to ensure employees have necessary information to handle materials safely
— Conduct chemistry composition determinations and product regulatory compliance assessments of new raw materials, manufactured intermediates, and products
— Evaluate and track North American chemical inventory regulations to determine status of products and raw materials with regard to those regulations
— Provide product regulatory consulting services to internal customers
— Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
— Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, or related Science degree
— Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Preferred Qualifications:
— 5+ years of experience in product regulatory compliance and SDS authoring in the chemical industry
— 5+ years of experience in global chemical control compliance regulations, chemical compatibility, hazard communication, hazardous materials, and transportation regulations
— Master's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, or related Science degree
— Strong background in inorganic and organic chemistry
— Experience using SAP to manage product compliance
— Experience working on Sharepoint
— DOT, IATA, IMO, and Canadian transportation certifications
