The Nurse Aide Training Program is a 75-hour hybrid program designed to prepare students for entry-level employment as a nurse aide. The program combines online learning, instructor-led education, hands-on skills training, and supervised clinical experience. Students complete 43 hours of classroom and theory instruction through a combination of online coursework, virtual instruction, and required in-person learning. The program also includes 16 hours of hands-on laboratory and skills training and 16 hours of supervised clinical experience in an approved long-term care setting. The hybrid format gives students more flexibility while still providing the hands-on training and clinical experience needed to safely care for residents and prepare for the Michigan Nurse Aide competency examination. The program meets Michigan requirements for approved Nurse Aide Training Programs and prepares students with the knowledge and skills needed to begin working in long-term care and other healthcare settings.
