This program prepares students for a rewarding career providing essential care and support to individuals in their homes or in assisted living communities. Professional Caregivers play a vital role in helping clients maintain independence, comfort, and dignity—often becoming a trusted and meaningful presence in their daily lives.
In just 10 weeks, students gain the skills, confidence, and hands-on experience needed to succeed in this in-demand healthcare role. The program combines online instructor-led learning with on-campus, hands-on training to prepare students for real-world care environments.
Training covers essential responsibilities such as personal care assistance, mobility and transfer techniques, vital signs, infection control, nutrition support, patient safety, communication, and professional boundaries. Students practice skills in a supervised setting while learning to deliver compassionate, safe, and respectful care. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others and working one-on-one with clients.
The program prepares students for Michigan state licensure and includes guidance through the credentialing process, along with career coaching and job-readiness support. From enrollment through employment, students are supported every step of the way so they can feel confident and prepared to begin a meaningful career in home or assisted living care.
