Program Details : Health Information / Medical Records Specialist
This program is designed to help students confidently step into a growing healthcare career in just 12 weeks. This program focuses on the accurate management of electronic health records, helping medical offices and healthcare organizations keep patient information complete, organized, and secure.
Classes are online, live, and instructor-led, meeting for 90 minutes twice a week, so students can learn from home while staying engaged and supported. Instruction is clear, practical, and structured to build confidence as students learn how healthcare data is created, maintained, and protected within electronic record systems.
Students gain skills related to record organization, documentation standards, privacy and compliance, data quality, and reporting—critical responsibilities that support providers, staff, and patients behind the scenes. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with systems, details, and technology in a medical environment.
Graduates typically work at a computer rather than on their feet, with little to no direct patient interaction, while playing a key role in the accuracy and reliability of healthcare records.
The cost of the national professional credential exam is included, along with career coaching and job preparation throughout the course. From enrollment through employment, students receive guidance and support every step of the way—so they can feel capable, confident, and ready to succeed.
Must be 18 years of age or have parental consent.
Must have access to a computer with reliable internet access.
