Our pharmacy Technician program will train students to work closely with pharmacists to help prepare and distribute medication to patients in hospitals, community pharmacies, and many other medical settings. Students will experience an interactive classroom environment, practice in a state-of-the-art mock pharmacy lab, and receive hands-on training in local pharmacies during their clinical externship. Graduates will be prepared to take the National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification.
1) Have a high school diploma or GED certificate. Current high school students may be accepted into the program contingent upon graduation. Must submit documentation of current progress toward graduation and official transcript or diploma upon achievement.
2) Be at least 18 years of age before completion of the program (some externships require =18).
3) Pass a criminal background check and drug screen (and maintain a clean criminal background check and negative drug screen throughout the program).
4) Receive a qualifying score on Math and English placement tests.
5) Be able to physically do what is required of pharmacy technicians. Review Technical Standards sheet for details.
6) Be a US citizen, or have a US permanent residence visa (provide documentation upon acceptance into program).
7) Meet immunization status (provide documentation upon acceptance into program).
8) Submit a completed enrollment packet along with all required documents and signatures.
