This program is a combination of Certified Nursing Assistant & Patient Care Technician programs. Student are taught the duties of Nursing Assistant skills as well as techniques of performing varieties of blood drawing and collection methods using proper techniques and precautions: vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfly needles and blood culture specimen collections. Training & techniques of perform EKG is also included. BLS training also included.
High School Diploma or a recognized equivalency certificate (GED) is required. No felony criminal background allowed. Must have the attitude and a desire to work with the ill, injured, elderly, and/or disabled. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, be in good general health and be able to stand for minimum of 2 hours. Professional Etiquette; Self Management & Problem Solving are included in the program. Must attend mandatory orientation meeting.
TB test, Updated immunization records ( tetanius, MMR, Varceilla & TB) and COVID-19 test are required before the start of program.
NHA certification examination fee is not included. Colored scrub, white scrub, white shoe and stethoscope are not included in tuition.
