Patient Care Technicians/Associate work under the supervision of doctors, nurses and medical professionals. This program teaches students in the techniques of performing varieties of blood drawing and collection methods using proper techniques and precautions: vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfly needles and blood culture specimen collections. Proper training & techniques of perform EKG is also included. This program is offered both On-line & In-person.
High School Diploma or a recognized equivalency certificate (GED) is required. Must have Nursing Assistant certificate as a prerequisite. Must pass a criminal background test. Must have the attitude and a desire to work with the ill, injured, elderly, and/or disabled. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, be in good general health and be able to stand for minimum of 2 hours. Etiquette; Self Management & Problem Solving skills are included in the program. TB test, Updated immunization records ( tetanius, MMR, Varceilla & TB) and COVID-19 test are required before the start of program. NHA certification examination fee is not included. Colored scrub, white scrub and white shoe are not included in tuition. Must attend mandatory orientation meeting.
