Job Description
In anticipation of project funding, Torch Technologies, a 100% Employee-owned company, is seeking highly motivated Simulation Software Engineers to support software development activities for the Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) at Detroit Arsenal, MI. Applicants will provide support to government labs in the creation of an enterprise platform simulation framework. This framework will support integration with discrete I/O for benchtop LRUs, virtual CAN/J1939 ECU simulation for vehicle ECUs, and digital data bus emulation for additional platform components including but not limited to RS232/422, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, etc. Additionally, further integration with sensors, robotics, AI/ML platforms will be necessary. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment. A well-suited applicant will be a self-motivated individual capable of working independently and within a multi-disciplinary team with contractors and government employees. They must also possess good oral and written communication skills. Candidate will sit on site with the customer at GVSC. Experience working with automotive and/or electronic emulation frameworks including within the DoD is a plus, but not required.

Qualified candidates will have direct experience with the following:
*Experience working with both hardware and software systems
*Experience with Electronics and Digital Communication Buses (e.g. RS422, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet, etc.)
*Object-Oriented Design and Programming (C/C++, C#, Java, etc.)
*Vehicle Simulation Programming Experience (CANoe, CAPL)
*Modern Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Microsoft Visual Studio or Qt and Qt Creator
*Linux and/or Windows operating systems
Qualified candidates will have an interest or experience in one of the following areas:
*Working with team-based Software Development and Configuration Management Tools (Git, TFS, JIRA, etc.)
*Hardware and Software Integration
*Hardware interface testing
Education and Experience Requirements:
*B.S. or greater in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline is required. Relevant graduate degrees will be given preference.
*Experience developing applications with object-oriented languages
*Entry Level Object-Oriented and/or vehicle simulation programming experience
*Previous experience in a Software-in the-Loop or Hardware-in-the-loop lab will be given preference
