Directs and coordinates manufacturing personnel: Schedules, assigns and verifies daily work and production to ensure planned delivery dates are met; quality of product is to customer specification and Mapal guidelines. Initiates all employee training and ensures employees are compliant with all safety and organizational rules, policies, procedures. Maximize quality and efficiency of work through feedback from employee, working leaders and team leaders.
Key contact and liaison to communicate delivery and quality status of all manufacturing products. Ensures effective follow-up and communication with written audit trail. Establish own procedure and system to follow up on expedited jobs with emphasis on maintaining normal work flow.
Completes all required documentation for manufacturing shop process: non-conforming, job routers, production worksheets. Completes, recommends and implements manufacturing process changes through ISHIKAWA worksheet and problem solving methodology.
Active participant in cross functional teams for manufacturing, engineering and customer service to contribute to capacity planning, control of output, analyzing deviations from production plan, corrections to drawings and/or prints.
Responsible for proper utilization and maintenance of machines, tools, fixtures, measure equipment and other shop equipment/supplies. Initiates and coordinates all required repairs in accordance with standard operating procedures. Develops standard operating procedures to ensure consistent application.
Expedites and adjusts production plan to ensure critical delivery dates are met. Initiates changes to process for future continual improvement of manufacturing area for delivery dates.
Ensures behaviors and work habits of employees are in accordance with Mapal standards. Documents through corrective action process to ensure successful behaviors/work habits are exhibited. Ensures conformance with labor agreement and Mapal standards.
Utilizes SAP to maximize workload and scheduling of production
Actively participates and assists in preparation of monthly department meeting to ensure effective communication and continual improvement.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma; Minimum of an Associates degree in Engineering with concentration in manufacturing/tooling, Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred. CAM and CAD completed coursework and/or detailed work experience desired.
Demonstrated Skills: Exceptional Active listening; Verbal and written communication; Behavior management, and Problem Solving methodology. Microsoft Office; SAP and Lotus Notes
Demonstrated Abilities: Ability to think and operate at both strategic and tactical levels; Building strong, proactive relationships. Bi-lingual: English and German, preferred.
